Reshaping Higher Educational Institutions through Frugal Open Innovation

Many private higher educational institutions (PHEI) are facing poor profitability, increased short term debts with under-resourced cash flow and insufficient funds that could lead to financial distress. To address the issues of ever-changing business environments deliver value propositions, PHEI should focus on their intangible assets increase capabilities achieve frugal open innovation. The objective this paper is investigate challenges faced by universities from practitioners’ points view offer a practical solution. This also attempts identify whether there need for any changes in model or operations required sustain competitive advantage current environment. study exploratory nature due scarcity past literature innovation context.
